Somos Votantes and Somos PAC Announce $3 Million Investment to Reach Latino Voters in Michigan

Building on their investments in Texas, Wisconsin and Arizona, Somos Votantes and Somos PAC are meeting Latino voters in their communities ahead of the November 3rd election

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Today, Somos Votantes and Somos PAC announced a combined $3 million investment to reach Latino voters across Michigan ahead of the November 3rd election, building on the organizations' ongoing work in the state and recent $6 million investment in Texas, $1 million investment in Wisconsin and $4 million in Arizona

Somos Votantes is launching a $1 million non-partisan voter education program to listen to Latino voters' top concerns, connect them to community resources, and provide information on voter registration — building on the organization's year-round civic engagement work across the country. The program will meet Latino voters where they are in communities across Michigan through door-to-door canvassing, site-based outreach and community events.

Somos Votantes continues our deep, ongoing work on the ground in Michigan, meeting Latinos where they are – from economic relief events to community canvasses – because families in Michigan are working harder than ever just to keep up,” said Melissa Morales, founder and president of Somos Votantes. “We know that meaningful civic engagement requires building real, lasting trust. This investment builds on that presence, making sure that once the trust is there, every voter has the tools and information they need to make their voice heard this November.”

Separately, Somos PAC will launch a $2 million program to persuade and mobilize Latino voters in support of Democratic candidates in Michigan — including MI-04, and the state’s Governor and Senate races. The PAC's program is anchored by digital advertisement, direct mail, door-to-door canvassing and community events, delivering bilingual, contrast-driven messaging directly to Spanish-speaking and bilingual households. This is on top of the early $1.5 million TV and digital advertising investment Somos PAC launched last month with LCV Victory Fund targeting Rep. Bill Huizenga (MI-04) over rising utility costs.

"Latino voters have the power to make the difference up and down the ballot in Michigan this November" said Melissa Morales, founder and president of Somos PAC. "They are looking for real leaders who show up, do the work, and don't take their vote for granted. This investment ensures we meet every Latino voter where they are — at the door, online, and in their community — to share how Democrats like Abdul El-Sayed and Jocelyn Benson plan to lower costs so working families can focus on building a good life."

The Michigan investment builds on Somos Votantes and Somos PAC's history of running some of the largest independent Latino civic and voter engagement programs in the country, and follows the organizations' latest state-by-state polling, which found deep economic concern and an unsettled political landscape among Latino voters in the state. In relation to the Iran war, 72% of Latino voters in Michigan said they are concerned about inflation, 72% about gas prices, and 67% about the cost of the conflict to taxpayers.
