WASHINGTON D.C. – Today, Somos PAC, a Latina-led organization focused on persuading and mobilizing Latino voters in key battleground states, including Arizona, celebrates the re-election of Senator Mark Kelly, who ran on a campaign focused on fighting to lower prices and creating more economic opportunities for Arizona’s working people, including hardworking Latinos, to build a good life for themselves and their families.

“Arizona’s working families, including hardworking Latinos, are the engines that keep our economy going,” said Melissa Morales, Founder and President of Somos PAC. “And today, they became the driving force that re-elected Sen. Mark Kelly. The election results proved what we knew all along. Working people want more economic opportunities, not less. Despite a challenging environment and real economic concerns, Latinos came out for Democrats like Sen. Mark Kelly. Latinos are an ever growing political force in Arizona. We are very proud of the incredible work we have done and look forward to investing even more in our Latino community across the state.”

Somos PAC, which ran programs that focused on educating Latino voters about the midterm elections, informing them about where candidates stand on the issues that matter and ensuring that they vote, spent $2.2 million on voter outreach programs in Arizona. The programs included robust investments in door-to-door canvassing, community organizing, a bilingual mail program that reached hundreds of thousands of households and paid Spanish and English-language TV, radio and digital outreach.

Additionally, its sister organization, Somos Votantes, spent $1 million in Arizona to  advocate for candidates that fight for working people.

In total, both groups made over 500,000 attempts at the doors in Arizona and conducted tens of thousands of one-to-one conversations with voters.
