ICYMI: Somos Votantes Brings Thanksgiving Food Drives to Hardworking Families Across Three States
Multi-state food distribution events reach hundreds of hardworking families amid rising grocery costs
WASHINGTON, D.C. — This month, Somos Votantes distributed over 800 grocery bags and more than $10,000 in gift cards across Arizona, Wisconsin, and Michigan. As grocery prices continue to rise, these events provided families with the opportunity and tools they need to celebrate Thanksgiving with their loved ones, put food on the table and breathe a little easier.
From Phoenix to Milwaukee, hardworking families showed up by the thousands — leaving with groceries, gift cards, and the essentials to celebrate Thanksgiving and continue building a better life. In Arizona, Somos Votantes partnered with Arizona Univision, to connect with those who power our economy and deserve more tools and opportunities during these challenging times. In Wisconsin’s event in Milwaukee, Somos partnered with UMOS, Forward Latino, and Renace to ensure community members had what they need for the holiday season. In Michigan, Somos’ event featured free haircuts, photography, raffles, and a food truck, to bring the Kalamazoo community together – highlighting how resources like these enable families to focus on what matters most.

"Every family deserves the tools and opportunities to build a good life and celebrate together during this Thanksgiving holiday. Our events were about equipping working people with the resources they need so they can focus on what they do best — contributing to their communities and taking care of their loved ones."
