ICYMI: Somos Votantes Hosts ¡Qué Padre! Family Resources Event in Las Vegas
Latino empowerment event connected families with essential resources and community support during challenging economic times
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Last weekend, Somos Votantes hosted ¡Qué Padre! Recursos Para la Familia, bringing together Latino families at Boulevard Mall in Las Vegas to strengthen family bonds while connecting them to valuable economic tools and opportunities. The event provided direct support to address rising costs and economic uncertainty facing working families in Las Vegas.
The gathering featured presentations from resource partners including the Legal Aid Center, Chispa NV, Puentes & Chicanos Por La Causa, and local city officials. Attendees received gas and grocery cards and participated in raffles for family activities including movie tickets, children's museum passes, and aquarium tickets designed to strengthen family relationships. The event also featured three musical performances for attendees to enjoy and live coverage from Fiesta 98.1 FM.
"Las Vegas is home to many hardworking Latino families who deserve access to the same economic development resources available to others," said Angel Lazcano, Nevada Program Manager for Somos Votantes. "This event connects them directly to those tools and opportunities while celebrating the parents who work so hard to provide for their families and keep our economy going."
The event welcomed nearly 200 community members and continues Somos Votantes' nationwide commitment to empowering Latino families through education, connection, and access in order to address the economic concerns heard directly from Latino communities while empowering the next generation of leaders.
