Somos Votantes Applauds President Biden’s Budget Proposal
Washington, D.C. – Today, Somos Votantes, the largest independent Latino voter engagement program in the country, released the following statement after President Biden laid out his budget proposal:
“When working people, including hardworking Latinos, struggle to build a good life, it holds our economy back,” said Melissa Morales, Founder and President of Somos Votantes. “Today, President Biden outlined his commitment line by line to provide working people with more tools and more opportunities so that we can provide for our families and keep our economy growing. From lowering costs across the board and protecting Medicare and Social Security to making sure wealthy corporations pay their fair share in taxes, the Biden budget sends a clear message to working people everywhere, including Latinos: Democrats are fighting for an economy that works for people like us.”
Since taking office, President Biden and Democrats have delivered for hardworking Latinos by creating millions of jobs, lowering costs, expanding access to health care and housing, and putting working families first.
