Somos Votantes Welcomes Emmy Ruiz as Senior Advisor
Emmy Ruiz, former Senior Advisor to President Biden and Director of the Office of Political Strategy & Outreach under the Biden-Harris administration, is joining Somos Votantes as a Senior Advisor.
WASHINGTON, D.C. — Emmy Ruiz, former Senior Advisor to President Biden and Director of the Office of Political Strategy & Outreach under the Biden-Harris administration, is joining Somos Votantes as a Senior Advisor.
A veteran political strategist with nearly two decades of experience, Ruiz was among a small circle of aides closest to the President and the youngest senior advisor in the administration. Prior to that, Ruiz oversaw the political team at the White House. She has served as a political strategist to President Barack Obama, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and Vice President Kamala Harris.

Ruiz has built winning campaigns from the ground up, particularly in mobilization and engagement with hard-to-reach communities. She has worked extensively on issue advocacy, electoral campaigns and independent expenditure efforts. She has dedicated her life to empowering women and girls, Latinos and young voters and is passionate about increasing political participation and representation.

Ruiz, the daughter of Mexican immigrants, is from the Rio Grande Valley in South Texas. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in English language and literature from the University of Texas at San Antonio.
